DIY: capçal de llit

Per fi la setmana passada vam muntar el capçal del llit 100% handmade i avui vull compartir amb vosaltres com el vaig fer. Feia molt de temps que en volia un amb granny squares així que fa moltes setmanes en vaig començar a fer.

Finally last week we made the 100% handmade headboard and today I want to share with you how I made it. I wanted one with granny squares for a long time so some weeks ago I started crocheting them.

Primer vaig decidir els colors que volia i la mida del capçal, en el meu cas 70cmx1,40m, calcular quants en necessitaria, en total 72 d'uns 11cm, i desprès en un paper quadriculat vaig anar fent proves amb la posició dels colors fins aconseguir la que més m'agradava.

First of all I decided the colors and the size of the headboard, in my case 70cmx1,40m, calculate how many of them I'd needed, in total 72 about 11cm, and then in a graph paper I made some tests about the position of the colors until I had the one I liked.

Un cop tenia tots els grannies va tocar cosir-los, la part més pesada, seguint el patró.
Once I had all the grannies it was time to sew them, the heavy part, following the pattern.

Vam comprar una fusta de conglomerat d'uns 2cm gruix i l'espuma en fa 2,5cm. També vam necessitar una tela blanca per folrrar l'espuma, vam reciclar un lleçol vell, cola i una grapadora. Amb la cola vam enganxar l'espuma a la fusta i amb la grapadora vam folrrar tota la peça amb el llençol.
We bought a piece of conglomerate wood about 2cm wide and a piece of  2,5cm wide of foam. Also we needed a white fabric to line the foam, we recycled an old bed sheet, glue and a stapler. With the glue we glued the foam and the wood and with the stapler we lined all the piece with the bed sheet.

Més pesat que unir tots els quadradets va ser cosir-los a l'espuma i més havent començat amb una agulla normal. Després em vaig enrecordar que en tenia una de tapisseria, les que tenen forma de mitja lluna, i la cosa va ser més fàcil. Abans de començar a cosir vaig plaxar la "manta" i la vaig col·locar sobre l'espuma i la vaig fixar amb agulles de cap perquè quedés tot a la mateixa alçada.
Heavier than join all the squares was sew them on the foam and more when I started using a normal sewing needle. Then I remembered that I had one for upholstery, the ones that have a half moon shape, and the thing was easier. Before I starting to sew I ironed the "blanket" and I placed it over the foam and I fixed it with some pins so it wouldn't move during sewing.

I l'últim pas va ser col·locar tres armelles a la part de darrere per poder penjar-lo a la pared.

The last step was put three eyeboolts on the back to hang it on the wall.
And headboard done!

DIY: llibreta folrada

Dilluns la Bàrbara ens va ensenyar com fer una llibreta d'una manera molt fàcil, jo avui he preparat un DIY per si la llibreta ja la teniu i la voleu fer més bonica, només necessiteu pega i un tros de roba!

Monday Bàrbara showed us how to make a notebook in an easy way and today I've prepared a DIY if you have a notebook and want it more beautiful, you just need glue and fabric!

Amb el material preparat ja podem començar a folrar!

1. Tallem la roba a la mida de la llibreta, deixant uns 2cm per costat.
 Whit the material ready we can start the lining!
1. Cut the fabric with the notebook size plus 2cm in each side.

2. Col·loquem la cola de doble cara en una de les tapes i la tapem amb la roba.
Repetim el mateix pas per fer l'altre cara.
2. Put the doble face glue in one cover notebook and we covered t with the fabric. Repeat the same step with the other cover.

3. Un cop tenim les dues cares folrades, hem de fer un parell de talls a la part del llom.
3. Once we have both covers lined, we have to make a pair of cuts on the spine.

4. Dobleguem la part sobrant de la roba cap a dins de la tapa de la llibreta.
4. Fold the excess of fabric inside the cover of notebook.

5. El tros que ens ha quedat al fer els dos talls al llom l'hem de  posar per dins de la tapa.
5. The piece of fabric that remain from the cuts we made on the spine it has to be put inside the cover.


I ja tenim llibreta nova!
And we have a new notebook!

Troballa!

Sempre m'han agradat els mobles i els objectes antics, només heu de passar per la botiga per veure un parell de mobles recuperats. Suposo que és de familia, a casa sempre hem tingut coses antigues, armaris, cadires, taules, gerros... i que la meva mare restauri és la bomba :)

Moltes de les coses que tenim les hem tret de casa els avis i moltes altres ens les hem trobat pel carrer, com l'última troballa de fa un parell de setmanes.

I've always loved the antiquettes, you just go by the shop and look some furniture that we have. I think it's a familiar issue, at home we've always had antiquettes, wardrobes, chairs, tables, jars... and my mother is the bomb restoring :)

Some of the things that we have, we take out of my grandparents home and some we find it on the street, as the lastest finding of a couple of weeks.

Sortia del metro per anar cap a casa i com sempre passo per davant d'uns contenidors i que veig?? una maleta dels anys 50 i semblava que estava molt ben conservada, el problema va ser que hi havia una noia remenant i vaig pensar que potser em mirava malament si l'agafava, així que vaig continuar cap a casa, però a l'arribar li vaig comentar a la meva mare i vam decidir baixar per si encara hi era, i si allà estava esperant-nos perquè li donguessim una segona oportunitat. La vam agafar i cap a casa, està força bé, no té masses ratllades i per dins alguna taca.

I leaved the metro to go home and as always I pass in front of bins and what did I see? a suitcase from the 50's and it seems well conserved, the trouble was that there was a girl stirring and I thought maybe she looked me bad if I took it, so I continued to my home, but when I arrived I told to my mother and we decided to go again and look if it was there, and yes it was waiting for us to gave it a second chance. We took it and went home. It's so good conserved, doesn't have many scratches and the inside just has some stains.

Ara hem de pensar que fer amb ella i on col·locar-la. Una opció és afegir-la a la pila de maletes de la botiga, però com on estan col·locades no hi ha massa alçada, crec que és una opció que he de descartar. La idea seria fer algo així.

Now we have to think what to do whit it. An option could be to add it to the luggage pile on the store, but the place doesn't have to much height to put another one, so I think that it's not an option, that we have to discart. The idea would be to do something like this

I buscant per internet he trobat un parell d'idees que m'han agradat bastant, com aquest armariet pel lavabo.

Però la que més m'ha agradat ha sigut la tauleta, amb unes potes més altes la podria posar a la botiga i canviar la tauleta blanca de l'ikea.
But I like the most the little table, with a large paws I could put it on the shop and change the ikea table.

I moltes més coses com un llit per un gat, un teatre de titelles, unes estanteries (aquesta em faria una mica de pena) o un mini bar
And a lot of things as a cat's bed, a puppet theatre, shelves or a mini bar
Ara només em fata tenir una mica de temps per poder fer alguna cosa, ja us ensenyaré el resultat.
Now I only need time to do something, I'll show you the result.

1 palé, 12 idees

M'agraden els palés, tot el que veig fet amb palés m'agrada, és una manera fàcil de reciclar i crear una peça practicament única. Per internet es troben 1001 idees, però si no tens espai no els pots fer servir i això és el que ens passa a casa i a la botiga, que si posem un palé nosaltres ens quedem fora.

Però l'altre dia en vam trobar un abandonadet aprop de la botiga i el vam agafar, dins no s'hi podia quedar però fora si i a més alegra una mica el carrer. El vaig pintar de blanc, sense matar-me gaire, vaig comprar uns ganxos metàl·lics i unes floretes i fet, ja tinc un palé!

I love wooden pallets, I like all that I see made wiht pallets, it's an easy way to recycle and  create a unique piece. On the internet we can find 1001 ideas, but if you don't have a place you can't use it and this is what happen at home and shop, if we put a pallet we have to go out.

But some days ago we found an abandoned pallet close to the shop and we took it, inside it couldn't be but it could outside and also it makes nice the street. I painted in white, I bougth metal hooks and flowers and it's done, I have a pallet!
